Half-Term Treats for Wolverhampton Refugees

10-pin bowling photo 3With financial help from Wolverhampton City Council, City of Sanctuary volunteers were able to organise three 10-pin bowling trips for secondary school children from refugee families.  Both the young and their adult accompaniers enjoyed the fun at Bentley Bridge Hollywood Bowl, where Nicole the manager also provided complimentary pitchers of squash for the three groups.  Bowling is thirsty work!  There was also an option to go canoeing on the canal at the Wildside Activity Centre but, perhaps not surprisingly considering the falling autumn temperatures, the children had a clear preference for indoor bowling!  Our thanks to the City Council’s Youth Engagement Scheme for awarding us the October half-term grant.
